There is a portion of every rainbow that nobody can see
I remember why you can not love me.
Vibrant colours emit our existence
as sun rays refract light in different directions
off the moisture from our thoughts and intentions.
Our faith remains-
God has kept His promise:
He will never flush away our lives by flood again.
Yet there is still a portion of each rainbow that nobody chooses to see.
It is the selfish desire to have all eyes on me
It is the lack of self-worth that builds my insecurites
It is the same reason my hands were kissed
by lips unaware
of the dirt beneath my nails.
There is a portion of me undiscovered
And the rainbows you see are colour-coded hands
full of broken hearts.
